The UK's tourist scene has been hampered since the outbreak of the epidemic due to travel restrictions imposed by the UK government.
However, when regulations are amended and limits are reassessed, foreign travel to the United Kingdom appears to be on the rise once more.
So, is the government currently providing tourist visas? Has the country's overseas travel resumed? Here's all you need to know about the British tourist visa.
What kinds of tourist visas are there?
Short term Visa
You're visiting family or going on a vacation for up to 6 months.
You are a traveler covered by an ADS agreement for up to 30 days.
You'll be in the UK for up to 11 months for private medical care.
If you are a student and fulfill the qualifying conditions, you, your spouse or partner, and your children may be eligible to remain for up to a year.
You're requesting to be an organ donor for a family member or someone with whom you have a close personal relationship.
Visa for the Long Term
If you need to visit the UK on a frequent basis for a longer amount of time, you may apply for a long-term Standard Visitor visa that lasts 2, 5, or 10 years. Each visit allows you to stay for a maximum of six months. If you apply while under the age of 18, your long-term Standard Visitor visa will only be valid for up to 6 months after you reach 18. You will not be refunded for the cost.
You must provide the following papers to apply for a Long-Term Standard Visitor Visa:
Evidence of frequent brief travels to the United Kingdom.
Proof of intent to depart the United Kingdom at the conclusion of the visa period.
Confirmation that you will not change the reason for which you require this visa.
If you apply online, you will receive a decision on your UK visiting visa within three weeks. However, Standard Visitor visa decisions are now taking an average of 5 weeks.
